Dec. 16, 2011: Egyptian protesters throw rocks at military police during clashes
near Cairo's downtown Tahrir Square, Egypt.CAIRO -- Soldiers stormed a protest camp
outside Egypt's Cabinet building, expelling demonstrators calling for an end to military
rule, just as officials were counting votes Friday in the second round
of Egypt's parliamentary elections. The clashes underlined simmering tensions between activists and security
officers and threatened to ignite a new round of violence after a
mostly peaceful vote Wednesday and Thursday in an election considered the freest
and fairest vote in the country's modern history.Clashes erupted as demonstrators were
camped out in front of the Cabinet building, demanding that the country's
military rulers transfer power immediately to a civilian authority. The sit-in was
in its third week. One activist posted a photo online of a female
protester beaten in the clashes, and others said they were briefly detained

electorate is unhappy with new and higher taxes, including a rising sales
tax, and changes to a pension system that only until a few
years ago allowed workers as young as 50 to retire with pensions
as much as 80 percent of their last paychecks.

Court. It's not clear when Waddoups will rule.State prosecutors contend the Browns --
who haven't been charged -- aren't facing any real harm because the
state has rarely prosecuted individuals for bigamy without also prosecuting for other
crimes, such as underage marriages, sexual abuse or welfare fraud."They have not
been warned that if they do not cease to engage in their
polygamous relationships that legal actions will be taken against them," Assistant Utah
Attorney General Jerrold S. Jensen has said in court papers asking the
judge to dismiss the case."And -- what is probably the tipping point
-- there have been no arrests or prosecutions for the mere practice
of polygamy in Utah in over 50 years."A check of state court
records by The Associated Press found at least two cases, however.Bob Foster
