Maine lake are expressing relief that a so-called hermit is no longer 
at large.Law enforcement officials say 47-year-old Christopher Knight lived 
in the woods for 27 years and may be responsible for more 
than 1,000 burglaries of food and other items. Authorities arrested Knight 
last week after he tripped a surveillance sensor while allegedly stealing 
food from a camp for special needs people.Authorities are sorting through 
Knight's lair in the woods, but the land's owner is turning away 
others who have hiked there to get a look.Among them was Frank 
Ten Broeck, a retired New Jersey police official who has a cottage 
nearby. Ten Broeck says it's "mind-boggling" that Knight could survive through 
Maine's severe winters for so long.
An Army chaplain who the White House says braved "withering enemy fire" 
to provide medical aid and comfort to fellow soldiers during the Korean 
War is receiving the Medal of Honor more than 60 years after 
his death.President Obama was awarding the nation's highest military honor 
to Capt. Emil Kapaun at a White House ceremony Thursday. Members of 
Kapaun's family were expected to attend.Kapaun is receiving the medal for 
heroism while serving with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st 
Cavalry Division during the Battle of Unsan in 1950. Kapaun stayed with 
wounded troops knowing he'd probably be captured by the Chinese and led 
prayers at the risk of punishment.The Kansas-born Roman Catholic priest 
died as a prisoner of war at age 35.
