'Phase 1' is Norman's first large scale solo project in the UK and the first
step towards the realisation of 'Geocruiser. The Mother Coach. Zone: Earth',
to be launched in June 2001 in Cambridge, shortly before it goes on its
national and international tour.

In 'Phase1', Norman will present the production plans and models of
'Geocruiser. The Mother Coach. Zone: Earth'. A redesigned, fully functional
coach, it will contain a library, reading area; offering free access to
books on radical gardening, eco-activism, self-sustainability and
collectivism and use of a photocopy machine and Internet facilities; both
powered by solar energy provided by the coach's solar roof. The rear of the
coach will host a in-built greenhouse growing a variety of indigenous
vegetables, fruits and flowers all watered by a 'rainwater filtration unit'
located on the back of the bus.

Alongside these models for 'Geocruiser. The Mother Coach. Zone: Earth',
Norman will show a series of new proposals, suggesting an alternative
redevelopment of 'urban-niches' and 'public places' in Cambridge.
Norman was born in 1966 in Kent, he lived for more than eight years in New
York, returning to London last year. Norman has exhibited widely nationally
and internationally and has been part of exhibitions such as: 'democracy!'
at the Royal College of Art, London; 'Small World' Museum of Contemporary
Art, San Diego; 'The Making of' Generali Foundation, Vienna; 'Greater New
York' PS1, New York. In Spring 2001 he will have a solo show at American
Fine Arts, New York.

For the convenience of our London visitors we will be running a return
shuttle service to Cambridge leaving Kings Cross at 4.30 p.m. early booking
is essential.
