RadioMatic is a on-line coop-system initiated by Jerome Joy and Ralf
Homann
between two art schools: Villa Arson in Nice (France) and Bauhaus Weimar
(Germany) and specially between the two sound studios AudioLab
(http://audiolab.villa-arson.org/) and RadioStudio
(http://radiostudio.org/). This project was born during a workshop in
Weimar last november.
Programmings team: Oliver Thuns, Hans Wastlhuber, Justus Wunschik
[english version]
RadioMatic is a non-stop audio streaming platform as an open space for
modular and generative audio practices and as a no-wall studio. It's an
open channel 24h/24h without archives.
RadioMatic is the contraction of the words Radio and Automatic. The
project
consists of the construction of an automatic permanent radio broadcasted
in
streaming (on-line), controlled by programming of various engines of
generativity. This programming (pun on the concept of programming in the
field of radio) activates algorithmic principles, random processes of
selections, mixings and samplings with live and/or fixed audio sources.
There is no archive, only a setting up of time and space occupations.
This
can offer a kind of laboratory to observe and to favour new forms of
production and broadcasting (here definitively bound) with streaming
activities.
This project will be controlled by a cooperative node constituted by the
users and the developers (actually AudioLab in Nice and RadioStudio in
Weimar, and very soon other studios from everywhere)
Following the projects Interludes, AudioVideo and Alphabet, the question
would be: " does the machine structure subjectivities or does
subjectivities structure the machine? ".
RadioMatic is an "autonomous" dispositive to produce changes and moves.
"
Not only the machine produces something in the world, but it contributes
to
produce, reproduce and transform the world in which it functions ".
(quotations: Pierre Levy)

programme
continu =E0 partir d'activit=E9s improvis=E9es et bas=E9es sur des syst=E8m=
principes
algorithmiques, des processus al=E9atoires de s=E9lections, de mixages et
d'=E9chantillonnages de sources audio live et/ou fix=E9es.
uel
elle fonctionne". (citations: Pierre L=E9vy)
