<div><font color="#000000"><b>Zum 11. Mal schreibt das Filmbüro
Bremen seinen Videokunst Förderpreis aus. Bis zum 15. Oktober 2002
können MedienkünstlerInnen Konzepte einreichen, deren Realisierung
durch die Preisgelder finanziert werden. Eine dreiköpfige Fachjury
bestimmt zwei Preisträger und vergibt EURO 6.500. Es ist nun schon
gute Tradition, die fertiggestellten Arbeiten im Folgejahr in einem
renommierten Bremer Museum zu zeigen.</b></font></div>

</b>Früh wurden so Talente entdeckt. 1992 war Bjørn Melhus der
erster Preisträger, dem die Bremer Kunsthalle und die
lothringer13/halle München gerade eine aktuelle Doppelausstellung
widmen.</font><br>

<div><font color="#000000">Die Ausschreibung des 11.
Videokunst-Förderpreises unterstreicht die Ausrichtung in ihrer
Offenheit gegenüber aktuellen Entwicklungen in der Medienkunst.
Neben Videobändern und -installationen werden auch
künstlerische Arbeiten berücksichtigt, die Video in Verbindung mit
anderen Technologien (analogen und digitalen Bildmedien) und
Ausdrucksformen einsetzen.</font></div>

Teilnahmeberechtigt sind VideokünstlerInnen aus dem
deutschsprachigen Raum (Deutschland, Schweiz, Österreich) und den
Bremer/Bremerhavener Partnerstädten (Bratislava,
Cherbourg-Octeville, Corinto, Dalian, Frederikshaven, Gdansk, Grimsby,
Haifa, Izmir, Kaliningrad, Pori, Riga, Rostock und Szczecin.).<br>
Eine thematische Bindung besteht nicht.<br>

<div><font color="#000000">The Filmbüro Bremen announces the 11th
Annual Award for Video Art. Media artists must submit their
concepts by October 15, 2002. Winning entries will receive
funding for the realisation of their idea. A three-person panel
of experts will chose 2 winners from the entries, and award prizes
totalling EUR 6 500. Traditionally the winning entries are then
displayed the following year in one of Bremen's renowned
museums.</font><br>

<div><font color="#000000">The Award for Video Art has a history of
discovering new talent. The first award in 1992 was won by
Bjørn Melhus, who is currently being honoured with a double exhibit at
the Bremen Kunsthalle and the lothringer13/halle in Munich.</font><br>

<div><font color="#000000">The call-for-entries for the 11th Annual
Award for Video Art emphasises the latest developments in media art.
In addition to the videotapes and installations, also considered will
be artistic projects integrating video with other technologies (both
analogue and digital visual arts) as well as other forms of
expression.</font></div>

<div><font color="#000000">Applications will be accepted from media
artists in the German-speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland and
Austria) as well as those from Bremen's sister cities (Bratislava,
Cherbourg-Octeville, Corinto, Dalian, Frederikshaven, Gdansk, Grimsby,
Haifa, Izmir, Kaliningrad, Pori, Riga, Rostock und
Szczecin.).</font></div>
