Applications for the International Live Media Floor section of Netmage=20=

are now open. Netmage will take place in Bologna from the 21st to the=20
24th January 2004.

With this next edition we want to reinforce the presence of Netmage as=20=

an international meeting point dedicated to Live Media: a series of=20
performance practices that use, and integrate, audio-visual devices=20
(digital, electronic, cinematographic, technological, pre technological=20=

etc.) to construct an active relationship with the audience.

With Netmage 03 it was introduced the term =91Live Media=92 to best=20
describe the wide range of instruments and solutions that are used by=20
artists, musicians, technicians and crews from vastly differing=20
starting points: going beyond, though obviously not excluding, the=20
forms of mixing sound and image that are covered by the term Vj=92ing.

The Live Media Floor, as part of the festival=92s programme of special=20=

events, workshops and conferences, is the heart of Netmage. It=20
represents an international point of reference for the area of live=20
media and Vj=92ing; it is, above all, an instrument open to research, =
for=20
the gathering of new productions and projects in the attempt to=20
describe the contemporary aesthetic and audio-visual scene.

Abandoning the competitive mechanics of contests Netmage has turned=20
instead to Live Media Floor, an open stage and gathering point for=20
confrontation, meeting and confirmation between performers and audience.

The Live Media Floor is open to all comers who want to try their hand=20
at the art of generating and/or mixing live sound and image in whatever=20=

shape or form.

The projects selected by the Festival=92s artistic panel will make up =
the=20
programme of events.
