1. SHARE MOBILE BERLIN
______________________________________________________________

During two nights club transmediale's second floor will turn into an
collective audio visual jam, set up and taken care of by New York's
Share
initiative. An earlier workshop will introduce into collective jamming
essentials and prepare for the Share nights at Maria am Ostbahnhof.

Share is an open jam and forum for audio / video artists, held Sunday
evenings at Openair in Manhattan’s East Village. A multi-channel system
for audio and video allows many artists to play together, or across
different rooms. A wireless network and free internet access encourage
communication and collaboration, and the audio / video jam is broadcast
live every Sunday night. Featured sets give local and visiting artists
a chance to play solo.

Share was founded by Daniel Smith, Rich Panciera and Geoff Matters.
Since its inception in 2001, Share has been coordinated and run largely
by an ad-hoc group of volunteers who donate time, skills, energy and
equipment to expanding and improving the event. The jam at the
club transmediale festival is the fourth mobile Share event, where Share
teams up with an alternate venue to provide a multi-channel audio /
video
system, and an open invitation is extended to the community in berlin
and networked artists in remote locations.

3. SHARE WORKSHOP - Public jamming!
______________________________________________________________

[SHARE WORKSHOP] - Monday 02.02. | 14:00 - 19:00 | HKW, room K3

Reservation required: workshops at transmediale.de
Admission: 10.- EUR / 8.- EUR (reduced)

______________________________________________________________

Workshop with Share members Daniel Smith, Jeremy Schaller, Eric
Redlinger, Keiko Uenishi and Kenard Meyers. Short presentation by Dunja
Kukovec antiart ahistorian based in Ljubljana, Slovenia:

- keynote presentation -

History and guidelines of share.

- collaborative filming session -

Borrowing on the model-in-the-drawing-studio dichotomy, the
collaborative filming session will engage visualists to do simultaneous
filming with two dancers. The resulting video will be assembled in real
time during the share nights at club transmediale. Filming will occur
between 14:00 - 16:00.
requirements: mini-dv camera with iLink/firewire, mini-dv tape
dancers: Claudia de Serpa, Takako Suzuki

- strategizing technique session -

Some proprietary softwares are used at share in collaborative
performances. Some introduction to the softwares is useful. If you have
a more elaborate setup that may be more involved than plug and play
this workshop is a great opportunity to meet and strategize.

- KWX session -

KeyWorx is a free application for macintosh computers, developed at the
Waag Society for Old and New Media in Holland, that enables
video and audio mixing in realtime using any combination of "prepared
media " (video, sound, text and image clips) as well as "live media" (dv
camera, webcam, internet streams, audio inputs, typing text on the
keyboard, etc.). It is particularly interesting in conjunction with
dance or
movement since it has the ability to capture live video into a buffer
allowing you to apply filters and transformations on the fly without
having
to render anything in advance. Likewise, its ability to sync with
audio,
allow multiple artists to collaborate on the same ouput, and its native
support for numerous external controllers (wacom tablets, joysticks,
cell
phones, midi devices, etc.) make it an attractive tool for VJing and
audio/visual installations.

- media swap -

Bring your media or code for trade or find collaborators at the share
workshop bazaar in preparation for two nights of jamming at club
transmediale.

das
regelmaessig Sonntags im Openair in Manhattens East Village

und
Zusammenarbeit.
vorzustellen.

gegruendet.

[SHARE WORKSHOP] - Montag 02.02. | 14:00 - 19:00 | HKW, room K3

Reservierung erforderlich: workshops at transmediale.de
Teilnahmegebuehr: 10.- EUR / 8.- EUR (ermaessigt)

Workshop mit den Share Mitgliedern Daniel Smith, Jeremy Schaller, Eric
Redlinger sowie Keiko Uenishi und Kenard Meyers:

- keynote -

Entstehung und Grundlagen von Share

- Session: Kollaboratives Filmen -

in
Echtzeit prozessiert und animiert werden. Die Aufnahmen werden zwischen
14:00 - 16:00 gemnacht.
Voraussetzung: Mini-DV Kamera mit iLink/firewire, Mini-DV Tape
Tänzer: Claudia de Serpa, Takako Suzuki

- strategizing technique session -

Waag
Society for Old and New Media in Holland. Sie ermoeglicht das
Echtzeit-Mixen
von Bild und Ton jeglicher 'vorproduzierter' Medien (Video, Sound,
Text- und
Bild-Dateien) sowie von 'Live-Medien' (Kamera-Inputs, Internet-Streams,
Webcams, Audio-Inputs, Texteingaben durch die Tastatur etc.). Die
Software
so
die verzoegerungsfreie Anwendung von Filtern und Transformationen
erlaubt.
