Call for Artists - The Arts and Genomics Centre, Amsterdam
Apply for a chance to present your work at the launch of the Centre
The Arts and Genomics Centre is now actively searching for artists who
work or plan to work in the field of biogenetic art. In particular, the
centre is offering the opportunity for artists to present their work and
make an appeal for a collaboration with scientists at the centre’s
official launch on Saturday 25th June at the Trippenhuis of the KNAW in
Amsterdam. To apply for the opportunity to present your work at the
public launch of The Arts and Genomics Centre, please send a CV,
examples of work and a short statement explaining your interest in
biogenetic art (in Dutch or English) to the address below. If selected
you will be asked to prepare a 5-minute presentation of your current
work and given the opportunity to explain your proposal and ask for
collaborative assistance from scientists in the audience.

Official Launch of The Arts and Genomics Centre
The Arts and Genomics Centre will hold its official launch on Saturday
25th June at 10:30 am at the Trippenhuis of the Koninklijke Nederlandse
Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW). After the official launch the day
continues with lectures, theatre and debates covering all aspects of the
centre’s activities. The launch will feature lectures by, among others,
bio-genetic artist and scientist Jeffrey Wyckoff of the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in New York on the experience of being a
‘double-talent’ in art and science, Dr. Miriam van Rijsingen of the
Kunsthistorisch Institute of the University of Amsterdam on ‘Visual
Genomics’ and Dr. Ingeborg Reichle of the Art History Department at the
Humboldt University in Berlin on ‘Art from the Laboratory’.
