Künstlergespräch mit dem Sound- und
Performance-Künstler

Richard Crow
(geb.1961, lebt in London)

"Des Teufels Innendekorateur" und Beckett-Spezialist
Richard Crow erlangte Bekanntheit nachdem er 1992 sein
eigenes Haus in London in den Kunstraum "The
Institution of Rot" verwandelte. In seinen
Performance-Installationen, oder "'installations in
progress", wie er sie nennt, konfrontiert Richard
Crow sein Publikum mit einer Kunst der Demut und der
emotionalen Fragmentierung.
Internationale Ausstellungstätigkeit, u.a.
"Not I" (Het Consortium, Amsterdam)"Speaking the
Shade" (Schlachthof / Bremen und Goethe Institut /
Sydney), "Grenzgänger" (Artspace / Sydney), "The
Noisiness of Bodies" (Institution of Rot / London),
"Macro" (Omniversum / Den Haag).

ORIGINALFASSUNG, eine Serie von Gesprächen und
Diskussionen basiert eher auf
einem Verständnis von Zusammenarbeit als auf
Wettstreit, motiviert durch die Neugierde von Fremden
oder Besuchern verschiedene Felder zu betreten – wie
z. B. Wissenschaft, Musik, Architektur, Kunst, Tanz,
Choreographie, Theater, Politik, Design, Medien,
Wirtschaft, Journalistik.

artist talk with the sound and performance- artist

Richard Crow
Born in 1961, lives in London

Richard Crow gained a strong reputation with his
home-based "Institution of Rot," an artist-run space
located in his private house in London. He combines
performance with installation, is a master technician
of the art of the abject and the emotive fragment.
Crow has been described as "the interior decorator
from hell". Recent exhibitions:
"Not I" (Het Consortium, Amsterdam), "Speaking the
Shade" (Schlachthof Bremen and Goethe Institute,
Sydney), "Grenzgänger" (Artspace, Sydney), "The
Noisiness of Bodies" (Institution of Rot / London)
