Am 6. «A Hack a Day» erforscht S.O.U.P (http://soup.znerol.ch)
gemeinsam mit den TeilnehmerInnen die "unsichtbare Stadt" indem wir die
unsichtbaren Signale des Stadtraums Basel aufzeichnen.

Wir beginnen mit einem Stadtspaziergang, einem Dérive und sammeln
mittels einer Low-tech Drone Daten wie Co2-Werte, elektromagnetische
Strahlung und deren GPS-Position. Wir verwenden diese städtischen Daten
dann als Input für eine experimentelle Nachbildung der Stadt in Ton und
Video.

Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die Arbeiten von Nikola Tesla und James
Clerk Maxwell, welche eine der Grundlagen für die Arbeiten von S.O.U.P
und BereBere bilden, werden wir uns auch zeitgenössische Arbeiten, die
sich mit elektromagnetischen Feldern beschäftigen, anschauen.

Den Workshop werden wir mit einer realtime Streaming Session mit dem
BereBere Kollektiv aus Bogota, Kolumbien, abschliessen. Juan Reyes,
Andres Cabera, Julian Jaramillo und Ricardo Duenas werden uns vom
Matik-Matik (http://www.matik-matik.blogspot.com) aus mit einer
Live-Sonfizierung unserer Daten erfreuen.

In our sixth «A Hack a Day», S.O.U.P (http://soup.znerol.ch ) will
explore the "Invisible City" of Basel with us. Together, we will go out
on a short walk around Basel, to map (as in G.P.S) the waves into O.S.C
(Open Sound Control) messages that anyone can use to recreate the city
in the experimental ways of sound and video. Sound Field Recordings and
Sound Synthesis will be part of the afternoon activities.

A 3 hours session that will begin with a short introduction to the works
of Nikola Tesla and James Clerk Maxwell that among many inform some of
our present interests. Including videos from the Superconductor group
and tracing references to the present work of Martin Howse and collegues
that work in the EM fields.

To close the session, the Colombian arts collective BereBere will stream
in realtime from Bogota sound and video re-using the material we
gathered earlier in the afternoon during our walk around Basel. Juan
Reyes, Andres Cabera, Julian Jaramillo und Ricardo Duenas from BereBere
will let us enjoy their Live-Sound-Session streamed live from
Matik-Matik (http://www.matik-matik.blogspot.com), an independent
Sound-Café in Bogota.
