// 23.–31.01. – Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien

The daytime program of CTM.09, to take place for the first time in  
this form, examines the questions of the festival theme STRUCTURES in  
practice and theory. During the whole festival period, the  
interdisciplinary program will turn Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien,  
with a mixture of lectures, discussions, films, workshops,  
installations and performances into a lively hub of exchange and  
reflection, in which visitors can actively participate.

Two highlights are the talk with Bill Drummond – inventor of the "No  
Music Day", formely of KLF and the K Foundation, and currently in the  
spotlight with his new performance project "The17" – and the  
discussion with John Sinclair: US undergound icon, political activist,  
ex-manager of the MC5, founder of the White Panther Party, blues  
historian, poet and musician.

THE BANK OF COMMON KNOWLEDGE
The Bank of Common Knowledge by Spanish group Platoniq is a pilot  
experience dedicated to the research of social mechanisms for the  
collective production of contents, mutual education, and citizen  
participation. During CTM.09, Platoniq will set-up the Free-Knowledge- 
Market, which invites everyone to share his/her practical or  
theoretical knowledge of any and all disciplines, from organizing to  
crafts to technology to civil rights, from DIY-manuals to first-hand  
experiences to expert reports.

STiMULiNE is an audio-tactile performance by the artists Lynn Pook and  
Julien Clauss, where the group of participants wears futuristic  
seeming suits equipped with acoustic activators that transmit sound as

Danish artist Goodiepal will run this workshop that will explore  
collective composition, notation, time, and artificial and alternative

This workshop by iRights.info provides orientation aids through the  
jungle of copyright laws affecting digital media, which often enough  
presents a conundrum even for lawyers themselves, and strives to

MAKE A BABY
The "Make a Baby" project is a playful workshop and audio-visual  
improvisation by Lucky Dragons. Lasting from one to several hours  
during which participants' skin contact gives rise to sounds and  
abstract animations. "Make A Baby" challenges participants to overcome  
social barriers and enables them to experience music directly as a  
spontaneous community process.

MECHANIC SOUND WORKOUT
Equipped with soldering irons, cordless screwdrivers, motors, gear  
wheels and electromagnets, each participant in this workshop by Niklas  
Roy builds a small electromechanical oscillator for sound production.

xxxxx_temporary_structure seeks 6-8 interested participants to join us  
in a public
laboratory structure during club transmediale in Berlin, from 22-31  
January 2009. Selected participants will have the opportunity to work  
with researchers, artists and theorists (listed below) in a number of  
diverse research fields, as well as in the creation of the lab  
structure itself, towards the construction of events on the final day.

To apply, send a statement of interest and links to previous works to:

by 14 January 2009. The selections will be made on a running basis, so  
earlier is indeed better! Those not selected will still be able to  
drop in at the lab space along with the general public.

Auffuehrungskonzept, bringt die Musik von GAS in ihrer ganzen

Das in dieser Form erstmals stattfindende Tagesprogramm des CTM.09  
setzt sich praktisch und theoretisch mit den Fragestellungen des  
Festivathemas Structures auseinander. Waehrend der Festivaltage  
verwandelt das interdisziplinaer besetzte Programm den Kunstraum  
Kreuzberg / Bethanien mit einer Mischung aus Vortraegen, Gespraechen,  
Filmen, Workshops, Installationen und Performances in einen lebendigen  
Ort des Austausches, des gemeinsamen Nachdenkens, Lernens und  
Experimentierens, an dem sich die Besucher aktiv beteiligen koennen.

Zwei herausragende Highlights sind das Gespraech mit Bill Drummond –  
ehemaliges Mitglied von The KLF und der K Foundation, Erfinder des "No  
Music Day" und derzeit vielfach im Blieckpunkt mit seinem Performance-

xxxxx_temporary_structure sucht 6-8 interessierte Teilnehmer, die sich  
an der offenen und oeffentlichen Laborsituation, die die Gruppe xxxxx  
waehrend des Festivals im Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien einrichten  
wird, beteiligen. Die ausgewaehlten Teilnehmer haben die Moeglichkeit,  
zusammen mit anderen Forschern, Kuenstlern und Theoretikern zu  
unterschiedlichen Forschungsfeldern zu arbeiten und sich an der  
Gestaltung des Labors selbst zu beteiligen. Die Ergebnisse dieses  
Prozesse werden am letzten Tag in einer  oeffentliche Performance/ 
Praesentation gezeigt.

CTM.09 sucht zur Unterstuetzung der Festivaldurchfuehrung noch  
freiwillige HelferInnen fuer das Tages- und Abendprogramm in den  
Bereichen

- Auf-und Abbauarbeiten am Festivalort
- Ausstellung: Aufsichtspersonal u. Programmbetreuungen
- Workshops: Unterstuetzung bei der Betreuung
- Kuenstlerbetreuung: z.B. Abholungen, Buehnenmitbetreuung
- Oeffentlichkeitsarbeit: z.B. Flyerverteilung

Fuer die Unterstuetzung koennen wir von unserer Seite aus anbieten:

- Freien Zugang zu den Festivalveranstaltungen, eine warme Mahlzeit  
(tgl. waehrend der Durchfuehrungsphase), Einblick in die Ablaeufe  
eines Festivals (hinter den Kulissen), Kontakt zu internationalen  
Kuenstlern und Kuenstlerinnen (Faustregel: 4h Hilfe = 1 Tag freier  
Zugang).
