Europeana, Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek, Googleartproject - in großen
nationalen und internationalen Webportalen manifestiert sich heute die
Idee einer öffentlichen Repräsentanz des Kulturerbes im Internet.
Jenseits der engen Grenzen fachspezi?scher Disziplinen, Verbünde und
Projekte wird die gesamte Breite digitaler Inhalte und Formate aus
Museen, Bibliotheken und Archiven aggregiert, indexiert, semantisch
angereichert und im unendlichen Kontinuum eines virtuellen “Musée
imaginaire" abgebildet. Nachhaltiger Umgang mit den kulturellen
Ressourcen, Partizipation und Vernetzung gelten als Eckpfeiler dieser
zeit-, orts- und geräteunabhängigen Informationskultur. Mashups, APIs,
CBIR, Semantic Web und WEB 2.0 Technologien sind ihr technisches
Fundament. Die 18. Berliner EVA-Konferenz bietet dazu ein praxisnahes
Diskussionsforum. Sie greift die aktuellen Themen auf und fördert den
Diskurs der Gedächtnisinstitutionen mit Informations- und
Kommunikationswissenschaftlern, Technologieanbietern und öffentlichen
Verwaltungen. In Konferenz, Workshops und begleitender Ausstellung
werden innovative Ergebnisse aus Forschung und Entwicklung anschaulich
und in ihren Anwendungsmöglichkeiten präsentiert. Als Teil des
internationalen EVA-Konferenzen-Netzwerks ist die Veranstaltung
zugleich eine Kooperationsplattform länderübergreifender Zusammenarbeit.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Vorträge
Zu den angegebenen Schwerpunkten und Themen können Vortragsangebote
eingereicht werden (max. 2 Seiten).
Die Vortragszeit beträgt 20 Minuten.
Workshops
Zu speziellen Themen können dem Programmkomitee Workshops angeboten
werden. Die Zeitdauer (ca. 2-4 Std.) wird individuell abgestimmt.
Ausstellung
Präsentationen für die begleitende Ausstellung am 10. November 2011
können gegen eine Ausstellergebühr von 60 ¤ angemeldet werden.
Die Referenten und Aussteller, deren Beiträge angenommen sind, werden
gebeten, ein Manuskript bzw. eine Präsentationsseite für den
Konferenzband zu erstellen.

Europeana, Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek, Googleartproject - online
access to cultural heritage is granted today by national and
international web-portal initiatives. Beyond the narrow borderlines of
traditionally specialized disciplines and institutions these are
claiming to interrelated access to the rich diversity of cultural
contexts and formats from Museums, Archives and Libraries. Content
aggregation, automated indexing methods and semantic enrichment perform
an endless continuum of a virtual "Musée imaginaire". Sustainability,
participation and networked services are the linchpins of the strategy.
Mashups, APIs, CBIR, Semantic Web and Web 2.0 constitute the technical
framework. The 18th Berlin EVA conference offers a discussion forum of
the new media applications. It brings together the memory institutions
with researchers of the information and communication technologies, IT-
specialists and the public administration sector. Results of research
and development will be presented with a strong reference to their
usage. As a member of the international EVA Conferences Network the
event offers opportunities for networking and international
co-operation.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Lectures
Offers of papers on the conference topics are invited (max. 2 pages).
Time allowed is 20 minutes.
Workshops
Workshops can be offered on special topics. The duration (2 to 4 hours)
is to be arranged individually.
Exhibition
Presentations for the accompanying exhibition on November 10,  2011 can
be registered for an exhibition fee of 60 ¤.
The accepted speakers and exhibitors will be asked for a manuscript or
a presentation slide for the conference proceedings.
