 Culture and Computer Science 2014
 Reality and Virtuality
The 12th edition of the “Culture and Computer Science” conference series brings
into focus best practice examples, challenges, and future trends in the fields
of mo-
delling, visualisation and interaction. The conference targets cultural policy
makers,
people from the cultural and creative industries, communication scientists,
cultural
and artistic actors as well as computer scientists and engineers, who conduct
re-
search and development on cultural topics.
The presentations will discuss the following key topics:
• General conditions of cultural policies,
• Interdependence between culture and computer science,
• Influence of art and culture on future developments,
• The media-compatible treatment and enhancement of information,
• Intuitive usage of media systems,
• Ethics in culture and computer science.
These items shall primarily be analysed, demonstrated and discussed through
best-practice examples for cultural and creative industries.
Further Key Aspects of the Conference
• Visualisation and interaction technologies,
• Systems of modelling, information, visualisation and communication in urban
spaces,
• Interactive multimedia solutions for museums, theatres, concert halls etc.,
• Interactive systems in the cultural and creative industries,
• Municipal and touristic information systems,
• Digital exhibitions, science centres, museums and galleries,
• Virtual reconstructions,
• Augmented reality,
• Media architecture, digital extension of buildings and urban districts,
• Position- and context-sensitive services,
• Documentation, visualisation and interaction in museums and archives,
• Game-based information processing,
• Digital storytelling,
• Multimedia guides,
• Social and ethical issues in computer science ,
• Cross-cultural communication and technology,
• Ethical issues concerning the use of virtual and augmented reality.
Proposals for oral presentations, short presentations, posters, or
demonstrations
can be submitted in English language before January 15th, 2014.
Abstracts (1–2 pages, DIN A4) must contain title, author(s), and the scope of
the pa-
per, emphasize on new advances, theories and/or applications, and include an
ana-
lysis of results and findings. A submission implies willingness to register and
present
the work if the paper is accepted for presentation at the conference.
Abstracts must be turned in online as PDF via the conference management system
of
INKA research group, which can be found on the conference website:
