Buchpräsentation: The Next Cyborg

Lange Zeit in Fiktionen und Erzählungen voraus entworfen, fasziniert und
verstört uns die Vision des Cyborgs zugleich, auch wenn wir seit jeher
versuchen, unsere Sinne mittels technischer Hilfsmittel zu erweitern. Die
Optimierung und Aufrüstung des eigenen Körpers löst jedoch nach wie vor
Unbehagen aus - gespiegelt in medialen Darstellungen, wenn Cyborgs als
Monster oder böse Technologien erscheinen. Daneben gibt sie auch Hoffnung
- für neue Lebensentwürfe und Möglichkeiten abseits dessen, was gestern
noch nicht denkbar war. Bewegen wir uns zu auf eine Gesellschaft, in der
erweiterte Körper die Norm darstellen? Ist der gänz lich hybride Mensch
der logische Schritt in der Evolution? Die Beiträge in diesem Band gehen
der Frage nach, was sich über den (Post-)Cyborg vorhersagen lässt, welche
