CRAC RISING FROM THE DEAD

Since the first November the crac-studio in Stockholm has been closed.
(Crac is an artist run media lab based in Stockholm http://www.crac.org with
400 members).
The reason for closure was funding problems. To run the studio crac needs 30=

thousand dollars yearly. Now the Stockholm city council and Kulturr=E5det (T=
he
Art Council) has given crac a promise of 100 000 dollars for next year.
The board of crac has decided to restart the crac studio in a slimmer versio=
n
adapted to this new situation.
It means that the crac studio will move to smaller locations and the studio
will reopen during winter/spring 2002.
The activity will also in the future be a member based media lab where artis=
ts
for a low cost can access high end digital equipment.
