ASCII Art refers to text characters and symbols that are combined to
create an image. These constructions can be a simple emoticon, such as a
smiley ";-)" or something complex as a graph. In either case, a person
using a screen reader will find it very difficult to understand what you
are attempting to communcate. 

The best policy is to avoid the use of ASCII art altogether. Convert
your ASCII art into a graphic and follow the same strategy as you would
with any other complext chart or table. See the Graphics Representation
