The lush, MTV-style aesthetic of Pipilotti Rist's internationally acclaimed=

politics of the gaze. In this discussion, Rist will be joined by editor and=
=20
critic Gilda Williams and art historian and critic Elizabeth Janus to talk=
=20
about her views on the body, pleasure, crowds and the city, looking=20
especially at her outdoor installations in New York and for Fourth Wall at=
=20
the National Theatre in London.

* IMMANENT CHOREOGRAPHIES: DELEUZE AND NEO-AESTHETICS *
http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/programmes/webcasting/live2.htm

Friday 21 September & Saturday 22 September
1000 - 1730 [ GMT ]
1200 - 1930 [ Central European Time ]

The writings of Gilles Deleuze, and his collaborations with F=E9lix=
 Guattari,=20
have had a major impact on theory and practice in many disciplines. This=20
two-day event, a series of presentations and performances, will bring=20
together an international range of contributors to consider some of the=20
ways in which Deleuze's thought has been taken up and put to work in=20
different media and art forms. It sets out to explore the power of=20
Deleuzian neo-aesthetics, and also its limits. To what extent has it=20
transformed the production and reception of contemporary art practices?=20
What is at stake, artistically, politically and philosophically, in the=20
adoption of Deleuze by such practices? The conference is divided into six=20
sessions.
