International Medialab Encounter: Taking the Reins/New Spaces in the 
Artistic Community
The first International Medialab Encounter examines the question of 
self-organising culture on the Net. For this urpouse, Technologies To 
The People invites you to attend a program of presentations, 
conferences and debates that seek to analyse a series of fundamental 
experiences undertakend in four very significant cities and contexts, 
namely, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels and London.
It will involve the direct participation of a large group of artist 
and theorists, the creators and protagonists of these initiatives, 
who will explain their ideas, needs, motivations, fustrations, 
successes and failures.

Workshop: Take the Reins!
Take the Reins! is a practical workshop organised by Technologies To 
The People where you can learn to develop your own technological 
infraestructures, such as how to build your own Internet plattform 
using Open Source and Frre Software applications and technologies, 
such as Linux operating system. But that is not all: it is the chance 
to share experiences with groups of artists who have been developing 
or helping to develop autonomous plattforms for collectives of artits 
since early 1990s.

Encuentro Internacional Medialab: Tomando las Riendas/Nuevos espacios 
en la comunidad art=EDstica

El primer Encuentro Internacional Medialab Madrid plantea el tema de 
la cultura auto-organizativa de la Red. Para ello, Technologies To 
The People invita a un programa de presentaciones, conferencias y 
debates en los que se trata de analizar una serie de experiencias 
fundamentales puestas en pr=E1ctica en cuatro ciudades y contextos muy 
significativos como son Amsterdam, Berl=EDn, Bruselas y Londres.
Cuenta con la participaci=F3n directa de un nutrido grupo de artistas y 
te=F3ricos, promotores y protagonistas de dichas iniciativas que 
exponen sus ideas, necesidades, motivaciones, frustraciones, =E9xitos y 
fracasos.

Taller: =A1Toma las Riendas!
(del 11 al 15 de marzo)
=A1Toma las riendas! es un taller pr=E1ctico dirigido por Technologies to 
The People donde puedes aprender a desarrollar tus propias 
infraestructuras tecnol=F3gicas, tales como construir tu propia 
plataforma en Internet usando programas y tecnolog=EDas de c=F3digo 
abierto y software libre, como el sistema operativo Linux. Pero no es 
s=F3lo esto, es la oportunidad de compartir experiencias con grupos de 
artistas que han estado desarrollando, o ayudando a desarrollar, 
plataformas aut=F3nomas para colectivos de artistas desde principios de 
los 90.
