GH Comments:
There's an early environmental piece by Alan Sonfist here in New York city.
It's at the corner of La Guardia place and Houston street. It's called
Time Landscape. It was created around 1970. The piece is a small slice of
land that reproduces the plant forms and eco-systems that existed before
Europeans colonized Manhattan. It's not Terra-forming on a sci-fi scale but
it is real. Botanists and other scientists have found that after a period
of time the balance of the eco-system was securely established. Obviously
it's become a habitat for wild life and quite a few surprises in the species
of plants that have interdependancies.
