("Mok-Muan" in Northern language means a participation of certain activity
that can create an out come to be a very present feeling to the eyes and to
the heart of the visitors.)

>Preface:
>	Chiang Mai Social Installation (CMSI) is an international
>cultural event,
>which established since 1992 by a group of artists, professors, and
>students majoring in visual art of the Chiang Mai University. The purpose
>of this event is to build a new tradition in the contemporary culture that
>can break down the institutional wall barrier, instead, to be able to work
>with the public spaces. This is also a part of contemporary culture toward
>the community as well.
>	Since 1992, the project can managed to repeat the continuity of the art
>atmosphere toward the community years after years. Though, the titles of
>the events were various in names but it always involved with the response
>about that particular period of time. If we were to count all of the
>events that have been organized, easy to see that they were the cause of
>complicated dimension and the complexity of time. It is very hard to set
>up in an arrangement order in term of logical explanation. It is very
>complicate to explain the way the management has portrayed in an
>unorganized manner (some were done on purposely/and some were not). For
>this reason, it has created the unique attraction for all the up coming
>events. The response from the international art critiques, the number of
>the artists that participated in each year, and the visitors that came to
>visit Chiang Mai in order to be apart of the events, and most important of

>community. This
>is a good occasion for the new generation to build up their understanding
>about their own community which they are living in. Through the use of
