announces the launch of the new show
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
for the beginning of November.
The exact date will be notified in time.
Further,
JavaMuseum is proud to announce
the winner of the 2002 competition on JavaMuseum:
the "JavaArtist of the Year Award"
is given this year to one single artist
for the excellence of his art working:
CALIN MAN, media artist from Romania.
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
is the title of the program series 2002: 2nd of Java Series,
a program of different net based art related events,
and it was the title of the 2002 competition on JavaMuseum.
The Show of
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
will incorporate following three features:
1. Solo presentation of the "JavaArtist of the Year 2002"
2. Presentation of the finalists of the competition
"Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
including the works of 25 artists
3. Presentation of work series, entitled "Mandala",
created by students of the University of the Philippines Manila,
in the framework of "Fundamental Patterns - Peripheral Basics"
but out of the competition concurrence.
In this exciting show, WEST will meet EAST,
and therefore the spiritual element
will play an essential role.
The show will be curated and created by
Agricola de Cologne, director and curator of JavaMuseum.
The winners of the
"JavaArtist of the Year Award"
were in 2001:
the late Tiia Johannson (net artist from Estonia, died on 11 June 2002)
Jody Zellen (USA)
MEZ - Mary Anne Breeze (Australia)
Another project in the framework of "2nd of Java Series"
is the currently running show
"Actual Positions of Italian NetArt"
