vinylvideo


vinylvideoT is an invention by gebhard sengmüller, in cooperation with
martin diamant, günter erhart and best before. vinylvideoT is a new,
wonderous and fascinating development in the history of audio-visual media.
for the first time in the history of technological invention, vinylvideoT
makes possible the storage of video (moving image plus sound) on analog
long-play records. playback from the vinylvideoT picture disk is made
possible with the vinylvideoT unit which consists of a normal turntable, a
special conversion box (aka the vinylvideoT home kit) and a television. in
it's combination of analog and digital elements vinylvideoT is a relic of
fake media archeology. at the same time, vinylvideoT is a vision of new live
video mixing possibilities.

bio. gebhard sengmüller (1967, vienna), artist working with electronic
media, video, computer. he is founding member of media art group pyramedia
from vienna, member of hilus intermediale projektforschung and inventor of
vinylvideo.
