txOom, an amalgam of textiles/textures in bloom, is a responsive environment
stretching conceptions of the physical and the digital by facilitating a
merger of mediatised and tactile synaesthetic experiences. txOom moves away
from the static representations of art and culture, and towards environments
where the public becomes an essential part of the work.

Realised within the EU Commission¹s Culture 2000 framework, FoAM and her
partners (Time's Up - Austria, Kibla - Slovenia, Future Physical UK,
Interactive Institute Sweden) spent most of 2002 and half of 2003
researching, developing and experimenting with mixed reality spaces as
gravitational chambers, wearable architectures and levitation zones.

A full project DVD [tks¹u.m] was made documenting different stages of the
project. The DVD is accompanied by 60 specially designed explanatory cards.

During the presentation FoAM members will disclose the ins and outs of
designing and implementing a large collaborative project, as well as
recreate parts of the 'ambiance' of txOom in the Theatrum Anatomicum.
