Dear friends,

We are happy to announce that, as part of its tour of England, our
curating archive is now opening in Birmingham at the International
Project Space, on the Bournville campus of the University of Central
England.

Tim Brennan has been commissioned to create a display structure for the
archive and work on its interpretation to the public. He will build a
‘Red Reading Room’ in the exhibition space, housing the archive and
providing a workspace for exhibition visitors that hints at the history
of art exhibitions as ‘a context in which revolutionary art might be
conceived’, while stressing a DIY approach to the materials on display.

The exhibition opens on the 16th of March, and all are welcome to join
us between 6-8pm. The Archive will be open to the public between the
17th March and the 13th April, Monday to Saturday, 11am-4pm (except for
the 25-29 March due to Easter Holidays)

We wanted also to draw your attention to a discussion event we are
staging as part of the archive tour. We have invited Simon Sheikh,
Gavin Wade, Mark Hutchinson and Kathrin Böhm to Bournville to present
their work and discuss the relationship between Curating and the Public
Sphere. The event is on the 13th April, 11am to 5pm at the IPS.

the tour is managed and produced by the University of the West of
England in Bristol, with the kind support of Arts Council England
National Touring Programme.

A more detailed info on both the exhibition and the event are attached.

with our warmest regards

Barnaby and Dorothee
