Well the basics:
> Get Apples Darwin Streaming Server and some rtsp://localhost/eno1.mp4 
> and point your browser to:

This "One Click Streaming" testbed does work with modem, the streaming 
itself does happen on your local machine.

Install DSS and put some eno1.mp4 into /usr/local/movies or whatever, it 
does work ;-)
