ART CRITICS ORCHESTRA live im Edith-Ruß-Haus für Medienkunst in
Oldenburg

Das Art Critics Orchestra (ACO) tritt am Freitag, den 2. Mai, ab 20 Uhr
in der Edith-Lounge des Edith-Ruß-Hauses für Medienkunst auf. Die fünf
Berliner Kunstkritikerinnen und -kritiker spielen *Punk für
Erwachsene* (art Kunstmagazin), stellen eigene Kompositionen sowie
Lieder von Künstlerkollegen vor. 

2004 in Berlin gegründet, erspielte sich das Orchester um die beiden
Gründungsmitglieder Andreas Schlaegel und Raimar Stange in
wechselnder Formation schnell den Ruf der *ultimative art rock band of
the new millennium: conceptual, punky, sensitive* (inoffizielle ACO
fan-site). Die Kompositionen der Artist-Songs wurden speziell für ACO
geschaffen - einige davon als Lieder, manche als Ideen, viele nur als
Konzept. Schon 2005 erschien die erste Veröffentlichung, eine 12 Inch
Picture Vinyl, gestaltet von John Bock and Kristine Roepstorff. Die
Veröffentlichung wurde selbst in der Redaktion des *Frieze
Magazine* heiß gehandelt.

2008 konzentriert sich ACO neben diversen Live-Auftritten (unter
anderem am 1. Mai im Westwerk/Hamburg) auf die Aufnahmen für das dritte
Album mit Deutschrock Songs. *Endlich wieder Studio!* freut sich
Bassist Raimar Stange. Die dritte CD mit ausschließlich eigenen
Kompositionen wird im Herbst 2008 erscheinen. Einzelne Stücke sind schon
jetzt live in Oldenburg zu hören.

Es spielen: Agnes Wegner (Gesang), Andreas Schlaegel (Schlagzeug,
Gesang), Raimar Stange (Bass), Laura Oldenbourg (Keyboards) und Micz
Flor (Gesang, Gitarre).

ART CRITICS ORCHESTRA live at the Edith-Russ-Site for Media Art in
Oldenburg, Germany

Art Critics Orchestra will perform on 2nd of May at the Edith-Lounge at
Edith-Russ-Site for Media Art in Oldenburg. The five berlin art critics
will play *conceptual, punky, sensitive* as the *ultimate art rock
band of the new millennium* (unofficial ACO fan-site).

ACO was founded in 2004 and has since been playing in various
constellations, various settings, dubious locations and with varying
success. ACO write their own songs, rewrite songs where needed and
dedicate plenty of time to songs written for them by artists.

2007 will see ACO*s second release, after the 12 inch vinyl picture
disk, designed by John Bock and Kirstine Roepstorf in 2005 - which
bizarrely seems to be owned by more people who *love it!* than the
number of copies ever sold. The 2007 release contains those artist songs
which have created an awful lot of sweat and joy in the rehearsal room
as well as on stage. Songs have been written specifically for ACO by
artists (in alphabetical order): Oystein Aasan, Dave Allen, Christian
Jankowski, Elke Krystufek, John Miller/Takuji Kogo, Carsten Nicolai,
Gerwald Rockenschaub, Karin Sander, Markus Schinwald, Andreas Schlaegel,
Ross Sinclair, Annika Stroem. 2008 the artist-song-record will be
followed by a record of ACO*s own material, more or less Deutschrock,
with the same sweat and joy.
