*REMINDER: Call for Projects *
*Ding! Prize for Artistic Game Development*
Virtueel Platform, the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design
and Architecture (BKVB) and the Dutch Cultural Broadcasting Fund
(Stimuleringsfonds) have jointly instigated the Ding! Prize for Artistic
Game Development to stimulate the creation of games with artistic value.
Deadline 15 September 2008.
The call for projects intends to stimulate collaboration between
artists/designers and game developers and/or (cultural) organisations.
Proposals will be judged on both technical and artistic quality. BKVB
and Stimuleringsfonds will reward the best concept with € 50,000. The
winner will be announced at the Ding! Award Ceremony during PICNIC '08
on 26 September 2008 in Amsterdam, after the _Games Go Social
<http://www.picnicnetwork.org/page/22325/en>_ programme.
Gaming is an important new medium, but its artistic potential has yet to
be fully realised. With recent figures indicating that 75% of the Dutch
population aged 8 and up play computer games, gaming is an obvious way
to reach new audiences.
*Requirements*
Proposals for projects can be submitted by an artist or designer in
collaboration with a game developer and/or (cultural) organisation. The
artist/designer has to be involved in the Dutch art or gaming sector.
The game developer/organisation has to be based in the Netherlands.

*
Description of envisaged development of the game
*
Details of the how the game contributes added artistic value
