Deadline 24th March 2008

As a one night event an exhibition at Wimbledon, London will explore
Victor Shklovskys' concept of 'defamiliarisation'

This concept allows us to step out of the norm to engage in art in a
more refreshing way.

You will be emailed some words or images which you will then display
in your city/ country.
These words are interpretations of the word 'defamiliaristaion'
submitted by other artists.
You can alter/ interpret or re-do the words or simply print them out.
e.g write them on a wall.
Then take a digital picture of its location and email it back to
alidiana at gmail.com along with your name, location, explanation or
description of the photo and contact details.
The photograph must be a representation or be characteristic of the
city or country it is in.
The best photographs fulfilling the criteria will be displayed in the
exhibition.

To receive your words please email alidiana at gmail.com

All photographs will be returned to the original artist who came up
with the words so they are re-introduced to the 'defamiliarised'
version.
This project was started in Sheffield and will hopefully go from
local, national to international, sharing artists work around the
globe exploring the debates of electronic communication.

Thank you for your time
Diana Ali
(Artist, Curator UK)
