The Synthetic Pharophony (roughly translatable as "'Synthetic
Lighthouse-phony") consisted at Sonarama (Sonar08) on an audiovisual
installation + 6 lives concerts.

The project is based on a instrument developed by the group Sonom,
called Pharophon ("Lighthouse-phone player") in order to be
synchronized with the rythm of the lighthouses.

Pharophony is synthesised in the installation through the creation of
a hypnotic atmosphere based on audiovisual synaesthesia, produced
through the Pharophon and a Videophar (Video-lighthouse), an artefact
developed also by the group to substitute real lighthouses in other
contexts.

This project has been risen up following a DIY philosophy, working on
a copyleft network and recycling technology that was mostly used
during the 70's.
