In this issue we consider the issues affecting the sustainability of creative professionals. ANAT's Gavin Artz discusses creative practice and cultural engagement plus he presents the results of recent ANAT studies. Meanwhile Sarah Langston chats to Sydney screen printer Kate Banazi about the benefits of digital platforms for income and audience generation.

The Australia Council's Director of Research and Strategic Analysis, Nick Herd presents an overview of two recent that the economic life of artists in Australia. Sarah Jansen introduces The Edge, a state of the art delivery platform and test space for young and emerging creative professionals, whilst Hasan Bakhshi, Radhika Desai and Alan Freeman argue that the arts industry should be leading the way with new technologies.

Plus: We present Case Studies by Mari Velonaki and David Rye (The Centre for Social Robotics) and Douglas Repetto and Julian Stadon (Dorkbot NYC & Perth) who give us their perspectives and models for sustainability.
