Video Pool is very pleased to announce the arrival of our new Director
and Curator, Dr. Melentie Pandilovski.

Until recently, Dr. Melentie Pandilovski was Director of the Visual
Cultural Research Centre of the Euro-Balkan Institute in Skopje,
Macedonia. Previously, he was Organisational and Artistic Director of
the Experimental Art Foundation in Adelaide, South Australia, and
Director of the Contemporary Art Centre in Skopje, Macedonia.

He was recently awarded his PhD from the Euro-Balkan Institute in Skopje.

His knowledge of visual arts is wide-ranging. He has directed and
curated in a range of funding climates and in art scenes with
different institutional structures (by organizing and curating around
100 group and solo exhibitions, performances, symposiums, conferences,
and workshops in Europe, Australia, and USA).

The projects included:  SEAFair (Skoje Electronic Art Fairt
(1997-2010), NY based Chico MacMurtrie’s Inflatable Architecture in
Adelaide in 2006 and Skopje in 2010, the group exhibition "Biotech
Arts - Revisited" at the Experimental Art Foundation in Adelaide in
2009, “Intimate Transactons” by Transmute Collective in 2008, G Mischa
Kuball (from Germany) presented  "Re:Mix/Broca II (Letters/Numbers)",
Risa Horowitz from Canada showed "Trio" in 2008, "Emotional
Architecture” by the Amsterdam-based Romanian artist Calin Dan and
Stelarc's "Alternate Anatomical Architectures" in 2007, "Burnt" by the
British artist and filmmaker Mike Stubbs in 2006, International
Web3DArt exhibitions and workshops in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, the
international exhibition /symposium/workshops "Art of the Biotech Era"
in 2004, etc.

Melentie has built strong links with the arts community and various
Networks in Europe, US, Australia, and Asia.


He has written extensively regarding the arts, in various books,
catalogues and magazines. His texts have been published or translated
into German, Russian, Macedonian, Greek, Bulgarian, French,
Serbian/Croatian, and English.



He has delivered texts for international conferences such as “The
Phenomenology and the Web” San Diego, 2000, “Consciousness Reframed”
Perth, 2002, QI AND COMPLEXITY, in Beijing, China, 2004, etc. He has
been a regular contributor to ISEA, as artist and theorist (Chicago
1997, Liverpool/Manchester 1998, Nagoya 2002, Singapore 2008).

He has presented his own artwork, as well as given lectures at
Conferences such as DEAF 96 in Rotterdam, LEAF 97 in Liverpool, ISEA
’97 in Chicago, ISEA 98 in Manchester&Liverpool, Web 3D at
Monterey,California in 2000, ARCO Madrid in 2003, etc.


He has taken both the Experimental Art Foundation in Adelaide,
Australia, and the Soros Centre for Contemporary Arts in Skopje,
Macedonia, through the process of creating very successful three year
Business Plans, and brought on board financial and in-kind support to
the organizations, enabling them to undertake high-caliber projects.


He has always passionately advocated for artists and art, and is
strongly committed to the support of local and emerging artists.

He has also worked with Canadian artists and critics such as Risa
Horowitz, Ihor Holubizky, and Paul Dignan.

Video Pool warmly welcomes Melentie to our Centre, as well as to our
Arts Community and the City of Winnipeg.
