PROGRAM RELEASE PARTY AND CONCERT
Release of official festival program and concert by KK NUll/Ottavi/Fr0ysland.
Landmark Oct. 23rd at 21:00.
Evening agenda:
1. Presentation of the festival program by director, Gisle Frøysland.
2. Concert by KK Null/Ottavi/Fr0ysland. The Japanese noise legend KK NULL and
the versatile artist JULIEN OTTAVI are touring Europe with VJ and artist GISLE
FRØYSLAND.
3. DJ provided by Piksel Sound System

LGRU (Libre Graphics Research unit)
The Libre Graphics Research Unit is a traveling lab where ideas for creative
tools are developed.
Its diverse activities range from the practical to the theoretical via
writing, research meetings, experimental prototyping, conferences and
workshops. The Research Unit is an initiative of four European media-labs
actively engaged in Free/Libre and Open Source Software and Free Culture. This
cross-disciplinary project involves artists, designers and programmers and is
developed in dialogue with the Libre Graphics Community.
The unit is co-organized by Constant (Brussels, BE), Medialab Prado (Madrid,
ES), WORM (Rotterdam, NL) and Piksel (Bergen, NO).
LGRU was initiated on 13th of June 2011 at Medialab Prado, Madrid. WORM in
Rotterdam will host the 2nd project meeting on the 7th-11th December 2011.

OPEN SOUND is a European network enabled through the Grundtvig learning
partnerships program. Each of the partner institutions has strengths and
skills which will be shared via site visits with the other partners. By
participating in workshops, symposiums and conferences new skills will be
developed as well as new focus areas of strengths in urban sound art,
communication technologies, social inclusion and cross disciplinary
discussions.
To make art not to be consumed but lived.
Open Sound is coordinated by APO33 (Nantes, FR) and partners include AntiTesi
(Palermo, IT), Piksel (Bergen, NO), Granular (Lisbon, PO), Audiolab (San
Sebastian, ES), ModusArts (London, UK), and N.K. (Berlin, DE).
Live!iXem 2011 is the eigth annual international festival of music, mixed
media and experimental electronic art, and will be hosted by AntiTesi on
Favignaga island on Sicily in collaboration with the Open Sound project on the
8th-11th December 2011.

Piksel is an international event for artists and developers working with
Free/Libre and Open Source technologies in artistic practice. Part workshop,
part festival, it is organized in Bergen, Norway, and involves participants
from more than a dozen countries exchanging ideas, coding, presenting art and
software projects, doing workshops, performances and discussions on the
aesthetics and politics of FLOSS & art.
