ILIOS

Over the last 15 years, Ilios has developed his own personal means of 
expression in the fields of sound art and experimental images. With a 
methodology in constant evolution, his recent explorations have focused 
on the use of low frequencies as a means to excite spaces. He has played 
concerts and exhibited sound installations on more than a hundred 
occasions in over 20 countries in Asia, Europe and America. Dimitris 
Kariofilis, the man behind the alias, has also been running the 
Antifrost record label since 1997. He has also organized festivals such 
as Electrograph – Athens Sound Media Festival or SDR Muestra de Arte 
Sonoro Santander and the Athens Biennal sound events and is also the 
co-creator of the [Un]Common Sounds project.

CREMASTER (Ferran Fages, Alfredo Costa Monteiro)

Cremaster is a joint project by Ferran Fages (no-input mixer, 
transducers and radios) and Alfredo Costa Monteiro (electric guitar and 
objects), two veterans of Barcelona’s experimental scene that since more 
than one decade have been exploring the diffuse border that separates 
electroacoustic improvisation and experimental noise music. Their works 
have been published in labels such as G3G, Absurd, Antifrost, Sound 323 
and Monotype. In their lives performances, Cremaster squeezes a raw and 
direct electronic sound that rejects the use of loops, effects or 
prerecorded material.
