Dear all,

Although this year’s Besides the Screen conference is fully booked,
there are still some places left for our keynotes.

The first is with PROFESSOR JANET HARBORD (Queen Mary University)
talking about one of Giorgio Agamben’s few essays addressing cinema
directly: ‘The Six Most Beautiful Minutes' - a sketch of a history
that never came to be, and yet shapes the contours of the cinema that
we have now. This is SATURDAY 01/12, at 11AM.

Then there is the closing keynote with DR. CHARLOTTE CROFTS
(UWE-Bristol), introducing her projects that research cinema heritage
using ‘new media’ as a lens through which to explore ‘analogue’ film
just at the moment at which the medium is supposedly dead. This is
SUNDAY 02/12, at 3.30PM.

Both keynotes take place at Goldsmiths’ College New Academic Building,
room LG01 (London!). Further info and full abstracts can be found on the
link below. All the places are offered on a first-come-first-served basis
 – so, arrive early in order to secure your attendance!

ALSO, in-between the keynotes there will be a night of expanded
cinema, practice-based research and boogie-woogie hosted by EXPLODING
CINEMA at St. James Church. This is SATURDAY 01/12, from 6.30pm till
LATE. Further info:

Best!
