VAFA – Video Art for All is an International Video Art Festival organized
in Macau by Art For All Society (AFA), Fundação Oriente and this year also
with Sky 21. VAFA launched in 2010 as the first international open call
video art festival in Macau and was proven to be a complete achievement.
The 2nd VAFA International Video Art Open Call Festival was successfully
held in December 2011 at Fundação Oriente, video artists from all over the
world made overwhelming response toward the festival. 160 works were
collected. Nearly an hundred participating artists came from all over the
world including countries and cities like Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong
Kong, Germany, Sweden, England, Italy, Turkey, India, Singapore and Chile.
Local artists had also submitted works for the event. 10 Videos the Best
Video were selected. The winner was invited to Macau to attend the award
presentation ceremony, organize workshops and share their art related
experience with local art lovers.
The 3rd VAFA International Open Call is now open. The application form and
regulations are now available on AFA website (www.afamacau.com) and on VAFA
blog (http://vafa-videoartforall.blogspot.com). Interested artists are
requested to submit the application form and video artworks before 15
October 2012. The organizer has invited jury composed of three renowned
video artists and curators from Macau, Portugal and Hong Kong. One Best
Video and a number of selected works will be chosen to be exhibited in
Macau. The winner of the Best Video will be awarded USD$1,000 and will be
invited to Macau to join the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Since
video art is an independent creation, there are no fixed criteria
concerning the theme and form of the works, which also apply to assessment
and regulation. Every artwork that does not contain offensive, provocative
message or content will also be considered. For enquiries, please call 2836
