The ultimate aim of the Data is Beautiful project is to create a
national and international platform
between Hungarian and International Educational Institutions and
Kitchen Budapest
to investigate in collaboration one of the most timely and significant
phenomena of digital culture:
aspects of data and data visualization.

Due to rapidly developing technologies and the inclusion of innovative
design techniques, the
representation of conceptual approaches, structures and working
methods of Data Visualization offer
new probes and new possibilities now extend beyond Academia -whether
these are in the form of visual or sound projects. Beyond aesthetics
functions, the concepts of effectiveness, access, transparency and
usefulness are necessary claims challenging the experts who have
developed visualization of databases and try to utilize the available
tools for the professional and general public. While most of the basic
software techniques used is similar in all disciplines the motivations
and outcomes are entirely different in the visualization community.

The goal of this program is to introduce and dissect questions,
problems by the representatives of various disciplines based on their
own professional viewpoints creating a dialogue between event
participants and presenters through lectures, round table discussions
and workshop aiming to resolve these various issues in various fields.

The program-series is part of the official program of Design Week
Budapest. Distribution partner is www.visualizing.org.
