The Department of Visual Arts at Rutgers / Mason Gross School of the 
Arts seeks an Associate Professor of Media Arts.

The Visual Arts Department of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, 
Rutgers University, seeks an accomplished media artist specializing in 
contemporary media art practice and aesthetics. Responsibilities include 
teaching studio practice and critical seminars to all levels of 
undergraduate and graduate media students; assisting in the recruitment 
of media graduate and undergraduate students; serving on departmental 
and university committees; and evolving the media curriculum.
The successful candidate must be actively involved in professional 
artistic or scholarly research or both.

Qualifications:
? MFA in Art or equivalent
? Proficiency in digital media production workflows
? Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of critical theory as it 
pertains to media and emerging technologies
? Demonstrated interest in convergence of media technology or other 
avant-garde practices
? Minimum of three years teaching experience of art, studio practice, 
time based media and related production techniques at the college level
? Artistic or professional recognition
? National and international profile

Rank: Associate Professor/Tenure Track
Salary: Appropriate to rank and qualifications
Starting Date: September 1, 2014

ten examples of work, ten examples of student works, including brief 
captions. This PDF should contain links and serve as a guide to
