Jack James and Gawain Hewitt - sonic research into Regents Canal and The Oval
Music Hackspace/Sound and Music Embedded Composer in Residence Jack James welcomes fellow sound artist Gawain Hewitt for an evening of discussion and sonic research into Regents Canal and The Oval. Gawain Hewitt will introduce his sound work in development for a performance at the Ice Music Festival in January 2016. Using hydrophones placed into Regents Canal he will use the sounds of the waterway to create a live audio broadcast into Music Hackspace, contributing a performance and soundtrack to the evening. Jack James will share his current research into informal and ad hoc social interactions happening within and around The Oval.

Di Mainstone – Artist Talk
Di is the founder of the Human Harp project – a collaborative instrument that transforms suspension bridges into giant harps. She has invented the term “Movician” to describe the player of her wearable instruments – a hybrid artist who explores and composes sound through movement.

xname – Nebulullaby workshop: lullabies and consciousness altering music
The workshop will be led by Eleonora Oreggia aka xname. With assistance by Chris Wood.
After a short introduction, participants will experiment with different instruments and techniques in order to create sleep inducing sound culminating in a short composition. Selected readings will be delivered beforehand. Basic guidance available on aesthetics, electronics, circuit design, physical computing, Arduino/Beaglebone/Gumstix, software programming (Java, C/C++, PD) and DSP. The day will end with a public presentation of the project NEBULULLABY, a small preview of the electronic lullabies compilation which will be released by Nebularosa Records (experimental music label, forthcoming in 2016), and the execution of the participants compositions.

“000” – Aberrant Percussion and distortion Talk/demo and DIY Workshop
Talk and workshop by "000”.
‘000‘ is about aberrant analogue distortion and percussion devices for both stand-alone and Eurorack format. An introduction to analogue percurssive synthesis, concept and module design of an aberrant modular drum machine. The talk on Thurs the 3rd will serve as a prelude to the DIY workshops which will take place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of December.
