Workshop: Interaction Techniques for Wall-Sized Screens
******
Workshop in conjunction with ITS 2015
Funchal, Portugal - November 15, 2015

****************************************************************
Due to a number of requests, we decided to postpone the submission deadline to September 28, 2015.
Workshop Theme and Goals
------------------------
The success of wall-sized display installations depends highly on the interaction technique used in the particular setup. Wall-sized displays are fundamental different to all other display form factors we use. Today we see wall-sized displays mainly in the context of professional visualizations and public displays. In future, they will also become commonplace in office and home environments.
This workshop will bring together researchers from academia and industry who work on large screens. Together, we will survey current research directions, review promising interaction techniques, and identify the underlying fundamental research challenges.
Topics
------
Topics of the workshop include, but are not limited to:
* Context-aware Input techniques for wall-sized screens
* Content Representation on Wall-Sized Screens
* Physiological sensing for interaction with large screens (e.g. EMG or BCI)
* Comparisons of interaction techniques for wall-sized displays
* Studies and experience reports about the use of large screens
* Standards for input techniques to interact with large screens
Submission details
------------------
This workshop is a full-day workshop, aiming to bring together people from industry and academia. Paper submissions should be made via email (see details below). A paper should have up to four pages in SIGCHI extended abstract format and will be reviewed by at least two workshop organizers. Successful submissions will have the potential to raise discussion, provide insights for other attendees, and illustrate open challenges and potential solutions. All accepted publications will be published on the workshop website. At least one author of each accepted paper needs to register for the conference and the workshop itself. During the workshop, each paper will be given about 10 minutes for an oral presentation. In addition, there will be room for demonstrations and hands-on sessions.
Submissions or any questions should be mailed to Lars Lischke (largedisplay at hcilab.org<mailto:largedisplay at hcilab.org>). More details can be found on the workshop website: http://largedisplay.hcilab.org
