*About the École des arts visuels et médiatiques *http://eavm.uqam.ca/

Montréal’s École des Beaux-arts founded in 1922 was one of the first art
schools in Canada. It became the Department of Fine Arts in 1969 as part of
the emerging network of the University of Québec. In 2000, it evolved into
the École des arts visuels et médiatiques with a curriculum examining
current issues in art and multidisciplinary projects. It is a flagship
school as the influence of its faculty and graduates on the national and
international art scene confirms.

An integral part of the Faculty of Arts comprised of the fields of music,
dance, theater, design, history of art and literary studies, the school has
the mandate to transmit and renew artistic practices and thought in Quebec.
The numerous specialized studios in both visual and media arts attests to
its impressive infrastructure making it is an exceptional resource within
Canada.
