3D Printing Workshop
Tuesday 14th January 2020, 1pm-6pm

Ideal for people new to 3D printing or those wanting a refresher
course,this hands-on session will guide you through every step of the 3D
printing process. You will learn how to design simple 3D models with
TinkerCAD and the process of setting up and calibrating a 3D printer.
Please note that due to the duration of the printing process your model
will be available for collection the following week.

Collective Economics
Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 January

Collective Economics is micro course which forms part of the new
initiative, the British College of Mutual Aid. Current members are the
Foodhall project (https://www.foodhallproject.org/), Access Space (
https://access-space.org/) and Redhaus books (http://www.redhausbooks.com/)
in Sheffield.

The two day event explores how we organise in a collective way by
exchanging theories of best practice and alternative economics, the
practical models needed to sustain social, architectural and creative
collectives and the hurdles we all face as the social movement has more
contributors.

The British College of Mutual Aid is an alternative to current education.
With a goal to enable everyone, over time, to contribute to the collective
knowledge to enhance a wider scope of views. Including views which don't
have any academic platform. Overcoming the age and financial boundaries of
current UK education system by open and equal access. Over the weekend
 participants and collaborators are invited to come, live together over a
two day period in a more immersive and alternative approach to learning and
teaching one other.

This idea is in it's infancy and this is the first event under this banner.
It is currently led by a small network of members of independent radical
spaces, and members of the international EASA community. These learning and
creative exchanges exist beyond traditional academic or formal frameworks,
but are qualifiable by the mutual agreement and consensus of the attendees.

Craft and Vinyl Cutting Workshop
Tuesday 28th January 1pm-6pm

Learn how to create your own cut-outs, stencils, stickers, packaging and
paper engineering projects with this day course
You will be introduced to the excellent open source graphics editor
Inkscape and gain the skills to translate your designs in vinyl, paper or
card using the vinyl cutter.

The Two Sarahs: Living with Chronic Illness

Brian Daines is an abstract painter living in Sheffield. His paintings and
photography explore the impact of the hidden, whether it be in the
unconscious, in past history or somewhere in the present.

Both Sarahs have lived with a number of years adjusting their life to the
effects and uncertainties of living with the effects of chronic illness.
For both of them this has involved limitations on the possibilities in
their lives that most of us take for granted
–
freedom from pain, normal energy and
physical ability to pursue employment, not feeling dependant on daily
medications and so on.
Sarah 1 has life
-
threatening cancer with regular health crises. Sarah 2 has the
lasting effects of endometriosis and the surgery that was needed for this
--
At the exhibition opening each Sarah will talk about the experiences they
have, and Brian Daines about how he creates his work around the subject of
the hidden.
