** Heropening A CROWDED SKY

Met de versoepeling van de coronamaatregelen kan de tentoonstelling A CROWDED SKY - Crowd Psychology in the Digital Age, die al kort na de opening in maart gesloten werd, heropenen van 3 tot en met 28 juni. Reserveer op onze website een tijdslot om de tentoonstelling, volgens de richtlijnen van het RIVM op veilige afstand van elkaar, te bezoeken. De tentoonstelling heeft, nu we massaal in de ban zijn van hetzelfde virus, alleen maar meer inhoudelijke relevantie gekregen; het thema massapsychologie en de werken van de verschillende kunstenaars in de tentoonstelling sluiten goed aan op de discussies over de situatie waarin we ons nu collectief bevinden.

** Online Event en Première IMPAKT documentaire
21 mei 20:00 A Critical History of Media Art in the Netherlands

Ter gelegenheid van de publicatie-lancering van ‘A Critical History of Media Art in the Netherlands’ presenteren LIMA en Jap Sam Books deze week een reeks online gesprekken. Vanavond om 20:00 gaan Sanneke Huisman (LIMA) en Arjon Dunnewind (IMPAKT) in gesprek met Annet Dekker en Marc Tuters. Tevens zal de première van een documentaire over IMPAKT te zien zijn, met archiefmateriaal van interviews en performances van onder meer Hito Steyerl, Willem van Weelden, Kodwo Eshun, Roy Villevoye, Sjarel Ex, James Beckett, Marc Tuters, Wander Eikelboom, Wilfried Houjebek, Mike Hoolboom en Michelle Teran.

IMPAKT wil kunstenaars in tijden van corona een platform bieden om werk te vertonen en nodigt kunstenaars uit om, tot en met 1 juni, videowerk in te zenden voor twee verschillende secties:
– Recent werk (van de laatste 5 jaar), niet aansluitend op een specifiek thema.
– Werk (niet noodzakelijk recent) waarmee wordt gereflecteerd op het thema “Liefde in tijden van Corona”.
De geselecteerde videowerken worden ten minste een maand online gepresenteerd op het ** IMPAKT Channel (https://impakt.nl/channel/)
, tegen een vergoeding van 200 euro. Met het IMPAKT Channel, opent IMPAKT haar uitgebreide archief van videokunst aan het publiek over de hele wereld. Het IMPAKT Channel biedt gecureerde programma’s gecreëerd rondom urgente thema’s, met werken van beroemde kunstenaars van de eerste dagen van film en video tot de huidige kunstenaars.

Reopening A CROWDED SKY

With the adjusted corona measures, the exhibition A CROWDED SKY - Crowd Psychology in the Digital Age, which closed shortly after its opening in March, will reopen from June 3-28. Book a timeslot on our website to visit the exhibition, according to the guidelines of the National Institute for Public Health, at a safe distance from each other. Now that we are captivated by the same virus en masse, the exhibition has only gained more substantive relevance; the theme of mass psychology and the works of the various artists in the exhibition fit with the discussions about the situation in which we now find ourselves collectively.

On the occasion of the publication launch of ‘A Critical History of Media Art in the Netherlands’ LIMA and Jap Sam Books present a series of online talks. Tonight at 20:00 Sanneke Huisman (LIMA) and Arjon Dunnewind (IMPAKT) will engage in conversation with Annet Dekker en Marc Tuters. IMPAKT will also premiere a documentary video of the institute, containing archival material of interviews and performances by, amongst others, Hito Steyerl, Willem van Weelden, Kodwo Eshun, Roy Villevoye, Sjarel Ex, James Beckett, Marc Tuters, Wander Eikelboom, Wilfried Houjebek, Mike Hoolboom and Michelle Teran.

Reminder Open Call for the IMPAKT Channel:
Love in the Time of Corona

IMPAKT wants to offer artists a platform to display their work in the time of corona and invites artists to send in video works for two different sections:
– Recent works (from the last 5 years), not relating to a specific theme.
– Works (not necessarily recent) responding to the theme “Love in the Time of Corona”.
The video works selected will be presented online on the ** IMPAKT Channel (https://impakt.nl/channel/)
for a period of at least one month, for which the artists will receive a screening fee of 200 euro’s. With the IMPAKT Channel, IMPAKT opens its extensive archive of video art to audiences around the globe. Curated programmes created around urgent themes offer works by renowned artists from the earliest days of film and video up to the current day.
Deadline: 1 June
