*Projekträume und Initiativen ohne festen Raum sind eingeladen sich für die
sechste Ausgabe des Project Space Festival Berlins zu bewerben, die vom 01.
- 31.August 2022 stattfinden wird.*

Das Project Space Festival  setzt sich mit der existenziellen Bedeutung von
Projekträumen für die Kunst in Berlin auseinander. Projekträume
und-Initiativen stehen in Berlin für vielfältige Handlungskonzepte in der
bildenden Kunst und für ein tiefes Verlangen nach polyzentrischen
Freiräumen innerhalb der Stadt. Künstlerische Gemeinschaft, sowie die
Mobilisierung der freien künstlerisch - kuratorischen Szene findet hier an
vielen unterschiedlichen Orten statt . Die sechste Ausgabe des Project
Space Festival Berlin nimmt dieses kulturpolitische  Selbstverständnis zum
Anlass, sich den gegenwärtigen Auseinandersetzungen um die bildende Kunst
und ihrer Räume zu stellen. Wem gehört die Stadt?

Lassen sich gegenwärtige Fragen von Künstler*innen, die die Prozesse der
Produktion und (Re-)präsentation ihrer Arbeit zunehmend kritisch
betrachten, noch im Zusammenhang  mit sogenannten Public/Private
Partnership Vereinbarungen und ihren zentralisierten Raumvorstellungen
verhandeln? Werden Projekträume in ihrer Diversität von einer Politik
wahrgenommen,  die zunehmend die Kontrolle über privatwirtschaftliche
kulturelle Interessen verliert? Wie steht die Vielfalt der Berliner
Projektraumlandschaft  der Idee einer periodisch wiederkehrenden zentralen
Kunsthalle der Stadt gegenüber? Wie kann ein informierter, produktiver
Zusammenhalt dezentral arbeitender Räume von unterschiedlichen
Gemeinschaften stattfinden, sich das bereits vorhandene Vertrauen der
Kulturpolitik und ihre Bedeutung für die gegenwärtige Kunstproduktion
weiterentwickeln?
Jeder der ausgewählten 30 Projekträume bzw Initiativen hat maximal 24
Stunden Zeit, um eine Veranstaltung
(Ausstellung/Performance/Lesung/Screening usw.) entweder in seinem eigenen
Raum, im öffentlichen Raum oder in einem anderen selbst gewählten Raum zu
präsentieren. Es ist möglich, eine Ausstellung einzureichen, die bereits
geplant und von längerer Dauer ist, jedoch sollte in dem Fall die Eröffnung
innerhalb des Project Space Festivals stattfinden.

*Wichtig: *Für die Bewerbung können nur freie, nicht kommerzielle
künstlerische Projekträume und-Initiativen berücksichtigt werden. Darüber
hinaus müssen alle Veranstaltungen innerhalb des Project Space Festivals
kostenfrei zugänglich sein.

*Budget pro Raum / Initiative: *
bis zu 4 Ausstellungshonorare á 250€ brutto
bis zu 2 kuratorische Honorare á 250€ brutto
ein Produktionsbudget von 150€
*Teil 1:*
a) Kurzbeschreibung des Projektraums / der Projektinitiative ohne festen
Raum, 3 bis 4 Sätze, die für die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des Project Space
Festivals verwendet werden kann.

b) Ausführliche Beschreibung des Projektraums / Projektinitiative ohne
festen Raum. Wo befindet sich der Raum wer sind die Personen die ihn
betreiben, was sind ihre Wünsche, welche Ziele verfolgt der Raum/die
Initiative? Bitte einen Link zur Online-Darstellung des Raums / der
Initiative angeben, die die bisherigen Aktivitäten dokumentiert.

*Teil 2:*
Beschreibung des geplanten Projekts für das Project Space Festival Berlin
2022. Was ist die Idee, welcher Raum / Ort soll genutzt werden (falls der
eigene Raum genutzt wird, bitte nur “eigener Raum” schreiben ohne den Namen
zu nennen), welche Künstler*innen werden an dem Projekt beteiligt sein /
wie viele Künstler*innen sind beteiligt? Bitte drei mögliche Termine im
August angeben, die für die Veranstaltung in Frage kommen

*Wichtig:* Die Jury wird diese 2 PDFs unabhängig voneinander ansehen. Bitte
gib daher in der PDF-Datei mit der Veranstaltungsbeschreibung keine
Informationen über deinen Raum / deine Initiative an!

*Teil 3:*
2- 3 Bilder in guter Auflösung (lange Seite Minimum 2000px, 300 dpi) mit
Credits, die für die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des Project Space Festivals
verwendet werden dürfen und einen Eindruck des Raums / der Initiative
vermittelt.

Aus den eingereichten Bewerbungen, wird die Jury des Festivals, Mitte April
über die Teilnahme von 30 Projekträumen entscheiden. Die Mitglieder der
Jury wurden aufgrund ihres kulturpolitischen Engagements für
Künstler*innen, unabhängige Kurator*Innen und selbstorganisierte Räume in
Berlin sowie ihrer Erfahrung mit kollektiver Praxis und freien
kollaborativen Kunstprojekten berufen.

*Project spaces and initiatives without a permanent space are invited to
apply for the sixth edition of the Project Space Festival Berlin, which
will take place from 1 - 31 August 2022.*

The Project Space Festival deals with the existential importance of project
spaces for art in Berlin. Project spaces and initiatives stand for diverse
concepts of agency in the visual arts and for a deep desire for polycentric
independent spaces within the city. Artistic community, as well as the
mobilization of the self-organized artistic-curatorial scene, takes place
here in many different places. The sixth edition of the Project Space
Festival Berlin takes this cultural-political understanding of itself as an
opportunity to confront the current debates about the visual arts and their
spaces. Who owns the city?

Can current questions of artists who are increasingly critical of the
processes of the production and (re-)presentation of their work still be
negotiated in the context of so-called public/private partnership
agreements and their centralized notions of space? Are project spaces
perceived in their diversity by a politics that is increasingly losing
control over private cultural interests? How does the diversity of Berlin's
project space landscape stand up to the idea of a periodically recurring
central Kunsthalle in the city? How can an informed, productive cohesion of
decentrally working spaces of diverse communities take place and further
develop the already existing trust of cultural politics and its importance
for contemporary art production?
Each of the selected 30 project spaces or initiatives will have a maximum
of 24 hours to present an event (exhibition/performance/reading/screening,
etc.) either in their own space, in public space, or in a space of their
choice. It is possible to apply with a longer lasting exhibition, that has
already been planned, but the opening must happen within the Project Space
Festival.

*Important: *Please note that only uncommercial spaces can be considered
for application and all events within the Project Space Festival must be
free of charge.

of the Project Space Festival.

b) Detailed description of the project space / project initiative without a
fixed space. Where is the space located, who are the people running it,
what are your aspirations, what are the goals of the space/initiative?
Please provide a link to the online presentation of the space / initiative
documenting its activities to date.
*Format:* PDF, maximum 3 DINA4 pages, Name-Of-Space.pdf.

*Part 2:*
Description of the planned project for the Project Space Festival Berlin
2022. What is the idea, which space / location will be used (if you're
planning on using your own space, please only write “own space”, not the
name of it), which artists will be involved in the project / how many
artists are involved? Please indicate three possible dates in August that
could be considered for the event.
*Format:* PDF, max. 2 DINA4 pages, Name-Of-Event.pdf

*Important: *The jury will look at these 2 PDFs independently. Therefore,
please do not include any information about your space/initiative in the
event description PDF!

*Part 3:*
2- 3 images in good resolution (long side minimum 2000px, 300 dpi) with
credits, which may be used for the public relations of the Project Space
Festival and gives an impression of the space/initiative.

>From the submitted applications, the jury of the festival, in mid-April
will decide on the participation of 30 project spaces. The jury was
appointed due to their cultural-political commitment to artists,
independent curators and self-organized spaces in Berlin, as well as their
experience with collective practice and free collaborative artistic
projects.
