(Are you worried about the state of the WATERways? Don't HESITATE, but
ACT like a MAJAVA!)

*10.08.-11.08.2024, MAJAVA symposium, Keihärinkoski*

(Majava is Finnish for beaver.)

On Saturday 10 August, at 2 pm, there'll be a meeting with experts,
visitors and locals; forest walks, lectures and discussions in
Keihärinkoski's coastal forests.

Later, dinner for MAJAVA's friends, discussion and ideation in Kesäniemi.

Sunday 11 August, at 10 am, a trip to the Pässilampi swamp area
(Huopanankoski), where the intention is to start blocking the ditches.

Everybody is invited to join this public event. The idea is to motivate 
locals
and summer residents to act as MAJAVAs in their own territories.

restores marshes modified by human activity.

Sirpa Rautiainen, coordinator of the Natural Heritage Foundation of
Central Finland (Luonnonperintösäätiö).
