Computer Arts Society (CAS) Chair Sean Clark discusses his latest body of artwork - Computational Constructs. In this talk to launch an exhibition of his work at BCS Moorgate, he presents the motivations behind his work, and introduces the concept of a “reconstructavist” aesthetic and how he uses systems concepts to inspire how he works. As well as the 20 prints on display, Sean will present a multi-user mobile phone version of Computational Constructs, together with early experiments in generating sound, not just images, with his generative systems.

Sean Clark is an independent artist and curator based in Leicestershire, UK. He has a PhD in Computational Art from De Montfort University and, as well as being Chair of CAS, runs the Computer Arts Archive CIC. He is a Fellow of the BCS Chartered Institute for IT.

The presentation will be preceded by the CAS AGM and followed by a reception and an opportunity to view the exhibition. The event will be recorded and uploaded to the CAS YouTube Channel.

This hybrid event is in-person and via Zoom, open to the public and free to attend, but you must reserve your place here: https://ComputerArtsSociety101225.eventbrite.co.uk <https://computerartssociety101225.eventbrite.co.uk/>.
