About the show "Upload/Download"

Art is no longer something that exists exclusively in physical
reality. Upload/Download invites us to reflect on the digital medium
as a means of transcending the limits of the real world and giving
form to what could never exist in the material world. In digital
space, materials lose their intrinsic properties and become pure
image, visually evocative entities that echo the real while
simultaneously betraying it. Thus, stones can float, and sculptures
can appear and vanish, dissolving into data.

About the WAG

Founded in 2008 by Chiara Passa, the Widget Art Gallery is a
single-room virtual gallery that fits in your pocket. Designed as both
a kunsthalle for temporary exhibitions and a growing permanent
archive, the WAG presents site-specific solo shows viewable across all
devices.
