The i3DG is a playful analog extension to an iPhone or an
iPodTouch. It converts the 2D display of iPhones into a layered 3D
view using the old technique of placing a half-silvered mirror at
a 45-degree angle in front of the image. As a peripheral gadget,
the i3DG can support a wide range of different applications, from
3D videos and animations to accelerometer-based games. <br>

<a href="http://www.v2.nl">V2_Institute for the Unstable Media</a></font>
<font face="Calibri"> in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, organizes a <a
href="http://www.v2.nl/lab/blog/palm-top-theater-workshop">workshop</a>
for students to develop fresh content for this device. The results
will be shown in the exhibition <a
href="http://www.v2.nl/events/palm-top-theater">Palm Top Theater</a>,
held from January 22 to February 13 as part of the <a
href="http://www.filmfestivalrotterdam.com/nl/iffr-2011/">International
Film Festival Rotterdam </a>2011.<br>

i3DG is invented by media artist Jitsuro Mase, and produced by </font>
<font face="Calibri"><a href="http://www.directions.jp/english/">DIRECTIONS</a>,
Inc, a Japanese media production company. It has received a
Honorary Mention at the 2010 <a
href="http://new.aec.at/prix/en/about/">Prix Ars Electronica</a>.<br>
