and DNA are both instrumental, each on its own term, to the
traceability of human legacy on earth. By combining those two media,
I address two interrelated phenomena regarding human legacy: the
erosive process of time and the human attempt of opposing the
transience of life by gaining control over nature. They fascinate me
because they imply, at the same time, manipulation and erasure,
preservation and decay, evolution and erosion – all aspects that
have influenced my work.</font></span></p><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)"><font size="2">

I focus on the materiality of paper and the physical gesture of
handwriting. Since I have abandoned the picture frame, the body of
these works is made of stratified layers of archival paper, a kind of
especially permanent and durable paper. The surface of the works is
eroded, and layers of handwriting overlap each other, merging with
the layers of paper. The handwriting is not meant to be readable:
just like I discarded the frame, I also discarded any literal meaning
of the words to reveal their pure evocative power.</font></span></p><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)"><font size="2">
