The 108 motorized spheres in the installation are individually opened and closed, creating a poetic performance of orchestrated activity. The floating, colorful spheres fold and unfold in organic rhythms, their modulation becoming a metaphor for the ways in which art can redefine the everyday.</span><br><br><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Nils Völker is a media artist based in Berlin whose practice embraces electronics and programming in combination with everyday objects. Völker creates large-scale sculptures and site-specific kinetic installations that investigate the rhythms of controlled systems and natural phenomena.
