<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="position: static; z-index: auto; "><tbody><tr><td><b>Werkleitz Festival 2016 <i>Trans-Positionen</i></b><b><i><br></i>Exhibition • Performance • Film Programme<br>1–30 October 2016 in Halle (Saale), Germany<br></b><a href="http://trans-positionen.werkleitz.de/en">www.trans-positionen.werkleitz.de/en</a><br><br>The 2016 Werkleitz Festival <i>Trans-Positionen</i> [Trans-Positions] is taking place in conjunction with the international radio art festival <i>Radio Revolten</i> organized by Radio Corax.<br>As part of this collaboration the Werkleitz Festival will feature an interdisciplinary exploration of radio as a medium of acoustic art in its <b>exhibition</b>, <b>performance</b> and multi-part <b>film programme</b>. <br><i>Trans-Positionen</i> examines the relationship between sound and the electronic image, the political importance of radio and the medium’s current relevance.<br><br><i>Radio Revolten</i> and <i>Trans-Positionen</i> will celebrate their opening together at <b>on 1 October at 7 pm</b> in the Ulrichskirche concert hall in Halle (Saale).<br>The Swedish organist Hampus Lindwall will launch the event with a short organ concert, followed by welcome speeches from the artistic director of <i>Radio</i> <i>Revolten</i>, <br>Knut Aufermann, and Werkleitz director Daniel Herrmann, who will welcome the artists, curators and guests of both festivals. The highlight of the event is a performance <br>by the Resonance Radio Orchestra from London.<br><br>The Werkleitz Festival will include an exhibition of Friedrich Jürgenson’s <b><i>Audioscopic Research Archive</i></b> (on loan from the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe) <br>in the foyer of the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the <b>audio-visual performance</b> <b><i>Attempt No. 6</i></b> by Swedish artists Hampus Lindwall, Joakim Forsgren and Leif Elggren <br>in the Moritzkirche, which was especially commissioned by curator Martin Hartung for the festival.
